Certification and Distribution Research


This is the list of the age ratings given by the 'British Board of Film Classification' :




U - Suitable for all 

PG - Parental Guidance

12A - Cinema release, 12 years and over
12 - Video release, 12 years and over
15 - 15 years and older
18 - Suitable for adults only



The British Board of Film Classification was founded in  1912 and is a non-governmental organisation founded by the film industry. It distributes the national classification and censorship of films shown at cinemas and at video works.
They will watch the film and judge what rating it should be given through the 'Classification Guidelines'. These guidelines, protect children from harmful content and to give information to the viewers that they might need before watching the film or video.
