These were possible locations we visited but didn't feel as if they suited our mini-brief:
We believed that this location would not fit the plot of our mini-brief and also the requirements. This is because the mini-brief must have a character walking into a room and this would not be suitable as to enter a room from this particular area, would take to much shot time up following them into a room. Also, this recce would suit our idea of having a proposal, but after deliberation, we confirmed that we would like to stick to the horror genre in order to gain practice for our main piece of coursework, that has to be horror.
The recce below was also a possibility for our mini-brief, as it suited our horror genre for the scene as Joe could be tied up by the pipes and Piper enter the room from the right of this picture. The location would be suitable as it looks hidden to enhance the 'interrogation' but after evaluating, we realised that due to limitations of space, we would not be able to perform the 180 degree rule. Therefore, this location is not suitable as this is required for the mini-brief.
The following two images is the recce for our mini brief. We chose this location as we felt it fitted the genre of our scene and added to the mystery of the plot.
The first image is where Joe will be tied to a chair as part of the 'interrogation' and be approached by Piper in the first few seconds of the scene. This is fitting as this area has enough room to do the 180 degree rule and there is a door facing the ladders, fitting the brief for someone to walk into a room. Also, it enhances the genre as the room seems hidden and abandoned, adding to the tension.
The stairs are in the opening shot, this is the entrance Piper walks in to approach Joe, in the opening shot. These stairs add to the mystery as it makes the room appear as if it is hidden.
